3 Ways to Get Things Done in One Day

A day seems just so short sometimes and the things you have to do seems to never end. Then, you go to sleep stressed because you didn’t achieve all your goals for the day. As a result you have a bad night sleep, lack of enthusiasm for the second day and lack of focus.

If this sounds familiar, let me teach you how all this can change by following 3 simple steps.

Prioritizing tasks

The first thing in the morning or the night before is thinking and writing down either on your phone, diary or sticky note 3–5 super important things and create a schedule in your mind about their order and what you are going to do in between tasks.

For example, instead of going to your friend to drink your coffee in the morning, do the most important thing first from your list and save your relax time for later. This way, 3 hours later you can still go and meet your friend and you focused your energy on the first 1–2 tasks.

Multitasking

Did you know there is a way to multitask without feeling burned out?

For example, I write for 30 mins sometimes and then check Facebook 10–15 mins, reply to messages and post in groups and then I come back to writing. Once I’m feeling tired again, I drink something or have a snack to get my energy back and schedule some posts for the weekend.

I try to combine tasks in a way that makes me feel variety. This way I avoid burn out because I don’t lose all my energy on one task. I just don’t allow myself to do it.

Never force yourself on something, if you can. Because you will start disliking that thing and you will want to quit it.

Set a Timer

Sometimes, you might think “I have the whole day to finish everything that I have in my mind”. And end up doing zero to 1–2 things the whole day and then feel discouraged and confused “What I did wrong? Why the day passed so fast?”. It’s easy to blame time when we just waste time on non-important things. So I have found a good way: Setting a timer

When you know you need to finish a task before the clock hits the hour you set, you really put all your focus there. But don’t give yourself a too short or too long time. You may know yourself good enough to realize the best amount of time you need for getting a certain thing done.

Follow your gut and set a time. Then do the task at your own pace. The timer helps to avoid distractions as when you want to leave the task unfinished you remember you have a certain amount of time left and go back at it.

The perfect Morning-Routine for 100% Energy All Day

  1. Wake up from your bed, prepare breakfast and coffee. Or you may opt for a coffee and some exercise. When you exercise, don’t do it until you sweat. Just enough to wake you up and feel like “yay, today is a good day, my body can’t wait to walk and work today and do all the things I have to do”.
  2. Cleaning & Music- Cleaning the home in the morning it’s more easy than doing it at a later time. So make sure it shines, while you listen some music. A clean home and room makes you feel relaxed and in a good mood. and listening music helps you maintain it.
  3. Take a walk- Nothing is better for your brain than fresh air. In the morning, it is more quiet, the air is fresh and colder and it wakes you up really well in case you didn’t sleep so good. But again, don’t stay outside until you feel cold, just enough to feel some fresh air.

For me, these tips absolutely work and I had many stressful, sleepless nights before actually finding the perfect routine that makes me start everyday wonderful.
